Official development is underway to get MoodShuffle up and running on both iPhone and iPod Touch devices. The development kit from Apple is still in a beta stage, so it might be a few months before we can distribute an official release. We'll post regular updates as to our progress. At this point we hope to have a summer release so you can take MoodShuffle on vacation with you.
While it appears as though MoodShuffle works fine on Mac OS-X Leopard, we wanted to make sure it would still compile correctly under the updated OS. It took us awhile to reconfigure the build machine's compiler, and there are definitely some differences that go on behind the scenes. We have not bothered to release a new build just yet since the old one still works, and the new one has yet to be certified as ready to go.
Due to items beyond our control, and items within our control, the build schedule is completely incorrect. Features have been shuffled around between builds, and the launch dates have obviously slipped. A new schedule that we will actually adhere to will be posted in the next week or so. We'll keep the launch-names the same, but correct the feature lists for each one.
We discovered that some folks don't have a common Microsoft DLL installed, so we have made a new build of the Windows version of MoodShuffle available for download. There is no new functionality in this build, but if you had any problems running the Windows version, give this new build a try, so you can start enjoying what MoodShuffle has to offer.
We were aware of a bug that prevents iTunes from updating the playcount and last-played-date after a song has finished playing. This exists because iTunes doesn't update that information until it determines the current song has ended, and attempts to play the next song. MoodShuffle attempts to time that perfectly so the next song in your library doesn't start playing, when it is going to play a completely different song. This issue was going to automatically be fixed in the Badlands release, but since some of you reported it as a bug we decided to fix it sooner.
As a result, we are combining the Acadia and Badlands releases in order to get a better product out quicker. However, we will likely drop the user-preferences from the Acadia release. On further examination, we found they aren't really necessary. We want the software to just work correctly, and as expected, out of the box without having to configure anything.
The release dates will hopefully not slip. The combined release is expected to come out in October.
We were excited when we had MoodShuffle users from Massachusetts to Hawaii, but we are now ecstatic that we have users from Europe, Asia and Australia as well. MoodShuffle is on its way to becoming a global phenomenon. Be sure to catch the wave.
The schedule for MoodShuffle beta updates is finally here. For the remainder of the beta, the Windows and Mac versions will be released separately. When a version clears testing, it will be made available for download. The goal is to have at least one release per month per platform, that would include bug-fixes and the feature updates listed:
This schedule is subject to change, but we hope to have the first update posted by the end of September.

The Windows XP version of MoodShuffle beta has now launched! You can download it and give it a try. As should be expected, it is still completely free to use. Currently Windows Vista is not supported. It may in fact work, but we haven't done anything special to enable it or test it.
The Windows version of MoodShuffle has moved from QA to an alpha build, and is currently being tested by our team of testers. Barring any major bugs being found, the MoodShuffle 1.0 beta for Windows XP will be available for download in May.
Right now, we are only targeting Windows XP, but the software may well work in Windows Vista too. Obviously support for Windows Vista will quickly follow if MoodShuffle doesn't work as-is. We have high hopes that it will work without any changes though.
It is finally here! The debut of MoodShuffle!!! Download the Mac OS-X compatible beta and give it a try.
It took a lot of effort to finally put everything together. For those of you waiting for the Windows version, fear not, it is almost ready to launch too. Check back in a month or so, for the Windows version of MoodShuffle (1.0 beta) release.
MoodShuffle had been in development testing for several weeks. Today the first "release" build was made in order to distribute it to some trusted testers for some informal quality assurance. Interestingly enough this was also the first Universal Binary build, because we had to accommodate both Intel and Power-PC based Macs.

After a fair amount of brain-storming, opinion gathering, and an executive
decision, the MoodShuffle logo was born.
The logo is supposed to be a musical note with a little attitude, hence the laid back stance and the sunglasses. While it might
have been funny to show some of the ideas that didn't quite cut it, we'd rather just feature the chosen one. Besides if someone
else comes up with one of our rejects, we get to laugh at them silently.
